When choosing a bedding for your hamster, a paper based bedding is often favoured. Hamsters are very prone to respiratory illnesses, so any 'dusty' type of bedding needs to be avoided. 

All favourite types of paper bedding has been critiqued, so it's going to be hard finding a bedding that has had all positive reviews. But some popular choices are (worldwide): 

• Critter care 
• Boxo comfort 
• Kaytee clean & cozy 
• Fresh World bedding 
• Megazorb 
• Fitch 
• Living World fresh and comfy 
• Fresh World bedding 
• Finacard. 
• Another popular choice is Wood Shavings. These should not be confused with Sawdust which is extremely harmful to hamsters. There are a lot of safe Wood Shavings brands, I use part Wood Shavings from my local Pound Shop as it's safe and cheap. Before buying Shavings, do research on the brand you are planning on buying because some brands can be reported as being dusty. 
• When emptying bedding into an enclosure made of plastic or glass, fill it up to around 6-10 inches as this will encourage your hamster to burrow. But more is better!
